I have long used flicker as an aid in all of our travel planning. We often get a really good feel for what a place looks like ( and what shot we want to get!) by reviewing flickr tags for our intended location. I myself have been using the free Picassa photo storing service but I signed up for flickr and will certainly look into it. Here's a link to a photo on flickr that I found particularly compelling:

Hi Julie, I agree that Flickr is a great tool for travel planning! I like to set up an RSS feed for particular tags after a trip, so when new photos come in it brings back fond memories of the trip. Have a great time in Iceland!
